Role description:
Arcadis is looking to hire a Sr. Design Build Project Director to lead the delivery of high-complexity high-risk and major projects or portfolios to meet or exceed client expectations and to ensure our projects are delivered successfully across all key areas including time quality budgetary and health and safety targets.
To promote both the regional and global culture of the business and lead excellence in Project Management to maximize business performance against strategic aims in major project delivery.
Role accountabilities:
Responsible for following Project Management procedures and upholding Arcadis project delivery principles
Providing sound and effective leadership to the team providing direction and technical advice leading by
example to achieve company goals and championing a quality culture. Motivates and mentors more junior
project managers.Contributes to Pursuit strategies and negotiation of acceptable contractual terms
Communicating with team members to ensure that they understand and become engaged with the project
strategy brief and client requirements leading an effective project team cultureDevelop strategy and tools for driving consistency across portfolios of projects to meet Client expectations and
deliver strategic goals focussing on Tier 1 clientsEnsuring that effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable
monitoring modification and forecasting and change management control to ensure Arcadis project results are
maximized and client expectations are met or exceeded.Leads and drives continuous improvement to processes and procedures to deliver business efficiency and client
satisfactionManaging the acquisition deployment and management of resources for the project to ensure optimal resource
allocation for the project and directs the assessment selection and management of suppliers sub-consultants
and contractors associated with projectsSets effective health and safety management targets and monitors and improves their success
Hitting project success criteria targets including Cash flow margin HSE quality and schedule
Seeking and acting on Client feedback striving for positive client feedback and repeat business
Contracts effectively administrated targeting no claims or inability to invoice for services delivered
Maximizing GEC utilization and Arcadis business performance
Effective project close outs with a motivated project team identifying and acting on required improvements
Maintains strong client relationship through project delivery and identifies future opportunities with that client.
Directs task team such that a team member is clear on their scope of delivery budget and program whilst
ensuring a healthy teamwork environment.Steward and manage health and safety aspects of the project
For long assignments the project manager should set team members goals in line with their performance goals
and line manager and feedback should be provided regularly.Vaues the power of diversity and our global capabilities to deliver as One Arcadis
Works to the highest professional and ethical standards and establish trust by being open honest and
responsible and bringing in subject matter experts when needed to support project goals
Qualifications & Experience:
- Commercial knowledge including expert understanding of contractual conditions and procedures to take commercial responsibility for a high complexity project
- Able to deliver multi service high complexity projects or portfolio of projects to ensure strategic results and ensure consistent service to a client
- Expert level of Project Management Skills (see definitions in SPO)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement team coordination business case/benefits management capability
- Able to meet the skills proficiency requirements of a category Arcadis Accredited Project Manager
- Minimum Staff Grade 12 with relevant engineering degree with chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation
- Engages in Continuous Professional Development in the field of project and program management
- Significant experience of managing large (10m) high complexity projects and experience in leading design in a consultant organization in a tendered design services environment
- Demonstrable expertise in working with technical disciplines across multiple geographic locations

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per salary range for this position is $164000 - $245500. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
