Summary

This Sr Industrial Engineer position is responsible for performing project management on a broad range of highly complex Industrial Engineering activities including all aspects of plant productivity. These aspects include monitoring controlling and improving plant operating efficiencies while applying advanced mathematical physical science and engineering technologies. This position is also responsible for exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments and is recognized as the authority within their area of expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads the development of layouts and major rearrangements for manufacturing and inspection departments to optimize the utilization of resources and facilities considering workloads processes product flow and relationships with other operating groups.
  • Based on standard time values for manufacturing and inspection while analyzing operations and pre-determined time systems.
  • Leads development of evaluation reports analyzes data and makes recommendations for and leads improvements for product test equipment procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and reduce flow time.
  • Leads cost estimates monitors performance and prepares reports statistics and recommendations for management review.
  • Prepares specifications and coordinates the procurement of various equipment and facilities including preparation of budget input specifications and justifications.
  • Uses Lean/Six Sigma methodologies or advanced statistical and scientific methods to evaluate address and recommend productivity improvements to constrained production areas.
  • Establishes methods and procedures to define base data requirements for conducting future-year workload impact and costing analysis as product designs and schedules change the labor or equipment requirements
  • Develops workload forecasts and establishes capacity values for departmental resources in support of plant budgets and workload assessments. Conducts technical reviews of line and staff organizations to assist general management in the evaluation and development of planning to optimize staffing levels organizational structuring and functional alignments.
  • Leads the development and implementation of major projects including work measurement forecasting and utilization systems make-buy evaluation studies material control systems and supplier capability studies.
You Must Have
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote hybrid or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or in Physics from and accredited program.
  • 6 years of relevant experience in engineering analytical or related technical activities.
  • United States Citizenship
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
