Sr. Commercial Relationship Manager Team Lead -Austin TX

FinTrust Connect has been engaged on a confidential search to identify a Commercial Banking Team Lead in Austin TX for a rapidly growing regional bank client. This is a senior player-coach seat: the right candidate carries a personal book of commercial relationships leads a small team of Relationship Managers and earns an override on the teams production. Ideal for a seasoned Austin banker with a portable customer base a strong COI network and prior team leadership experience or a top individual producer ready to step up and bring one or two RMs with them.

Requirements

  • 10 years commercial banking commercial lending or relationship management experience with a proven personal production track record.
  • Previous team leadership player-coach or lift-out experience preferred. Strong individual producers ready to step up will be considered.
  • Portable customer base and demonstrated COI network in the Austin metro.
  • Strong C&I lending experience with privately held businesses in the lower middle market (typically under $100M revenue) or commercial real estate expertise.
  • Credit analysis underwriting loan structuring and portfolio management fluency.
  • Deep familiarity with the Austin market decision-makers industries and referral ecosystem.
  • Bachelors degree in business finance banking or a related field. Graduate school of banking is a plus.

What youll do

  • Carry a personal book of commercial lending and deposit relationships. Continue producing at a senior level while leading.
  • Manage 23 Relationship Managers on your team. Coach review pipeline drive accountability and step in on complex deals.
  • Coordinate with the broader commercial team treasury management wealth mortgage and retail partners to deliver an integrated client experience.
  • Structure C&I and CRE credit for privately held companies real estate developers and acquirers and professional-services businesses.
  • Build and maintain a strong COI network with attorneys CPAs brokers and community leaders to drive quality introductions.
  • Represent the bank in the Austin market at the senior banker level.
  • Own credit quality documentation and compliance across the teams portfolio.

Where the market opportunity is

  • Central and West Austin are already well covered. Growth pockets include South Austin (Kyle San Marcos) Cedar Park and Leander to the north and East Austin (Bastrop Taylor) driven by the Samsung Tesla Amazon and Apple ancillary development ecosystem.
  • Lower middle-market C&I is the sweet spot service companies high-growth private businesses HVAC/plumbing/electrical GCs landscaping and other operating businesses under approximately $100M in revenue.
  • Commercial real estate remains a core competency given Austins growth trajectory and the banks balance sheet appetite.
  • This is not a whale hunter seat large-cap C&I over approximately $100M in revenue is handled by a separate group.
