Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our finance & accounting this role you will take ownership of our general ledger lead month-end close processes and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of GAAP excellent problem-solving skills and a proven track record of improving accounting workflows.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Tampa FL headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial statements including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.

• Month-End Close: Assist the close process by creating journal entries tracking fixed assets and managing accruals.

• Reconciliations: Perform complex balance sheet bank and intercompany reconciliations to ensure general ledger accuracy.

• Auditing & Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing necessary schedules workflows and supporting documentation.

• Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting procedures and recommend ways to improve efficiency accuracy and internal controls.

• Mentorship: Provide guidance review work and help train junior accounting staff.

• Ad-Hoc Analysis: Assist management with budgeting variance analysis and special financial projects as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.

• Experience: 35 years of professional accounting experience; prior experience in a senior or lead role is preferred.

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs pivot tables) Google Sheets and experience with ERP systems. A plus if (Great Plains OneStream BNA CoStar Blackline).

• Certifications: CPA a strong plus.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking high attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
