Job Description
This position primarily supports the preparation of the Companys annual and quarterly SEC filings in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements including Managements Discussion and Analysis financial statements footnotes and related supplemental disclosures. Responsibilities include managing the reporting process in Workiva coordinating quarterly workpaper assignments preparing selected supporting schedules partnering with Corporate staff on review of responsibilities and coordinating responses to external auditor requests. The role also supports preparation of selected sections of the quarterly earnings release and investor presentation materials including compiling tie-outs to supporting schedules in collaboration with the Financial Planning and Analysis team.
This position calculates communicates and monitors the accounting for pension and other retirement plans measured by external actuaries. The role participates in coordination meetings with the external actuary in which retirement plan developments are discussed resulting in updates to annual assumptions and documents those assumptions in the accounting assumptions memorandum.
This position prepares monthly analysis and reconciliation of uneliminated intercompany accounts receivable and payable balances by generating consolidation system reports and following up with subsidiary finance personnel regarding material uneliminated amounts.
This role serves as the Workiva Administrator for the Brinks SEC Reporting workspace. Responsibilities include new user setup and provisioning quarterly user access reviews user support and issue resolution and ongoing evaluation and implementation of new Workiva functionality including automation and AI-enabled features.
In addition this position prepares certain employee benefit plan financial statements for inclusion with Form 5500 and other agreed-upon procedures financial statements and assists with assigned sections of the annual Proxy statement.
This position also supports the compilation preparation and filing of certain quarterly and annual government reports.
The position will at times research and document U.S. GAAP and its application to The Brinks Company. The position will also assist with special projects as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all items in SEC filings are supported through Workiva software.
- Maintain a quarterly financial reporting calendar for each filing
- Coordinate 10-Q and 10-K workpaper assignments to ensure that all financial statements disclosures and MD&A sections are supported by assigned workpapers.
- Assist with preparation of workpapers/schedules to support SEC filings.
- Calculate communicate and monitor accounting for pension and other retirement plans that are measured by external actuaries. Update annual assumptions memorandum.
Experience/Qualifications:
- CPA with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in accounting.
- Experience with Big-4 Accounting Firms minimum 3 years.
- Must have a good understanding of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) considered a plus.
- Ability to interact with senior management.
- Experience with international company and foreign exchange a plus.
- Good organization analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with consolidation accounting is a plus preferably FCC (Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close) software.
