Natures Workforce a branch from Consolidated Divisions Inc. (CDI) Colorados largest environmental contractor and industry leader is seeking an experienced Spray Technician to work in our commercial Landscape Maintenance division.
The Spray Technician will be responsible for making applications of various fertilizers herbicides fungicides and insecticides to turf and landscape beds on commercial and residential properties. Must be willing to learn and follow processes and procedures in an ever-changing market with many different products. Also will be responsible to oversee a crew with 1-2 additional spray helpers
Hours:Available to work from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday Friday and as needed on weekends during the summer. Winter work will consist of various tasks including helping other crews applicator training and snow removal operations which may require working nights weekends and holidays.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fertilizer herbicide fungicide and insecticide applications to turf shrubs trees and landscape beds.
- Mix load and apply fertilizers herbicides fungicides and insecticidesto numerous sites each day.
- Calibrate sprayers and spreaders
- Comply with the Department of Agriculture laws and regulations regarding the use of pesticides as outlined in the general turf and right of way categories.
- Complete required paperwork and reports on a daily basis.
- Clean and maintain equipment on regular basis to ensure good working order.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification/ Experience/ Education:
Knowledge Basic math skills and conversions required to measure and mix proper amounts of liquids and granular products. Ability to read maps and locate jobs readily. Knowledge of mechanical sprayers/ spreaders truck mounted tanks with application ability and calibration equipment is a plus.
Skills- Must be self-motivated reliable trustworthy and driven. Must be detail orientated and have great written and oral communications skills. Detailed record keeping and paperwork is extremely important and required daily. Ability to properly measure mix load and apply fertilizers pesticides fungicides etc. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
Abilities pass a background check; government employee verification; have a good motor vehicle record and the ability to operate equipment such as trucks trailers spray rigs ATVs and other equipment required to perform daily functions.
Education High school diploma or GED.
Experience previous field experience a plus but willing to train the right candidate.
Work Environment:
We work outside in various weather conditions including but not limited to heat cold rain snow and ice performing physical manual labor on a variety of surfaces and slopes.
This is a fast paced work environment and you must be able to keep up with the physical demands of the daily work.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Strength; hand eye coordination and endurance.
Lift up to 80lbs; transfer vertically items weighing up to 100lbs.
Drag hose up to 300 ft.
Ability to lift pull push up to 100lbs.
Bending and squatting.
Climbing stairs and ladders; tolerate heights up to 20ft.
Ability to utilize site sanitary facilities.
