Spotter

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Landfill Spotter to join our team in New Orleans Louisiana. The Landfill Spotter plays a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient landfill operations by directing incoming vehicles inspecting waste loads and ensuring all site safety procedures are followed. This position also includes general labor duties such as site clean-up yard maintenance and assisting with facility upkeep.

The ideal candidate is responsible hardworking drug-free and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Safely direct drivers to the correct disposal areas according to site operations and fill plans
• Inspect incoming waste loads for unacceptable or hazardous materials
• Remove or report prohibited waste items before disposal
• Monitor and enforce site safety rules and regulations
• Maintain a safe working environment for customers and team members
• Communicate clearly with drivers equipment operators and supervisors
• Assist with general labor duties including:
  • Site clean-up
  • Yard maintenance
  • Debris removal
  • Basic building maintenance
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the landfill site

• Must be drug-free and able to pass a drug screening
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Ability to work outdoors in heat cold rain and other weather conditions
• Ability to perform physical labor and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Must follow all safety procedures and company policies

• Previous landfill construction waste management or heavy equipment site experience
• Experience directing traffic or working around commercial vehicles
• Knowledge of waste screening and environmental safety procedures
• OSHA or other safety certifications are a plus
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
