About the role

Fundamental to the spiritual care services and partnering withour incredible team to promote and support the integral importanceof spirituality to a persons wellbeing this vital positionfocuses on meeting the spiritual religious and emotional needs ofresidents families and staff. With deep respect and authenticcuriosity embracing spiritual cultural and religious diversitythis role models Mercy Cares Mission Ethos Values and position is on a 4 day a week basis working 2 days at ourRockingham Residential Aged Care facility and 2 days at ourKelmscott facility.

About you

Youll have a vibrant and active spirituality to both ground youand drive your engagement and support of others. Youll have astrong understanding and commitment to the spiritual care needs ofthe elderly their friends and families along with experience withthe life processes of grief dying and death including Catholicpractice and tradition. Youll be looking to join a caring diverseand passionate team and your key experience will include:

  • The ability to create and lead spiritual reflection embrace diversity and work across religious and spiritual traditions
  • Assessment and care planning including the use of online care management systems
  • The ability to coordinate a diverse team with great relationship building interpersonal skills and emotional maturity
  • Foundational counselling and group work skills with excellent communication skills across verbal written and digital mediums
  • A solid understanding of the spiritual care needs of the elderly and their families particularly in the context of grief dying and death.
  • Excellent administrative computer planning and organisational skills
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
