Job Summary
Pay: $47.00/ hr

Essential Functions:
- Assess diagnose screen and prevent language speech and swallowing disorders.
- Communicate with the patient and liaising with their family members physicians and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
- Use tried and tested therapies in combination with new innovative techniques to provide the best care.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences conducting research and expanding professional and academic networks.
- Educate patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.
- Take detailed notes on patient history and progress.
- Provide mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.
- Evaluate patient progress and implement changes to therapy programs as required.
Skills Abilities:
- Effective oral written andrelationship-building skills.
- Ability to complete competency CPR and First Aid.
- Computer skills and familiarity with database management software.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical equations to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and strong problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to distressed patients families or visitors.
- Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Requires standing sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech Therapy or Speech-language Pathology.
- Relevant license and certification.
- Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be required. Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.
- Willingness to conduct research and travel to conferences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience
- Experience in hospital setting.
