Speech Language Pathologist AssistantPart-time Day shift (8am - 5pm) up to 24 hours per weekStarting pay rate $32/hr. or more depending on experienceSUMMARYThe Speech Pathologist Assistant provides coordinated speech therapy assistance with a Bachelors Degree in Speech Therapy to patients of adolescent age groups under the supervision of a Licensed Speech Language JOB FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below. Administers the speech therapy treatment plan as developed by the Speech Language concepts of infection control and standard precautions in performing patient care clinical assignments that are consistent with the education and competence to care for the effective interpersonal relations and communication skillsMeets mandatory continuing education requirementsPromotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payers through education coaching and other assistance as necessaryDemonstrates commitment professional growth and competencyPerforms other related duties and activities as Knowledge and Skills required by the JobThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or abilities required to perform the job. Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of speech therapy assistant with a Bachelors DegreeOne year experience as a Speech Therapy Assistant with pediatricsPediatric and Home Health experience with pediatric feeding/swallowingExperience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)Certificates Licenses and Registrations:Current Florida State License to practice speech therapyOther Skills and Abilities:Therapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies. Good interpersonal Requirements:Travel as neededPhysical Requirements:Heavy work.
