This part-time position offers a diverse caseload that includes inpatient rehabilitation adult and pediatric outpatient services instrumental swallow assessments and early intervention. The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates diagnoses and treats communication cognitive voice language speech and swallowing disorders for patients from infancy through adulthood. The SLP collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based patient-centered care across multiple settings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Evaluate and treat adult and pediatric patients in the outpatient rehabilitation clinic.
  • Provide speech-language pathology services for acute and inpatient rehabilitation patients.
  • Perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies in collaboration with radiology and medical staff.
  • Deliver early intervention services for infants and toddlers (Birth to Three) in home or community settings.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and establish measurable functional goals.
  • Educate patients families and caregivers regarding treatment strategies and home programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians nursing staff physical therapists occupational therapists educators and other healthcare professionals.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Qualifications required for this position include the following:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies is preferred but training may be provided.
  • CPR training

Speech Language Pathologist will work Monday through Friday no major holidays or weekends. The working conditions will be in a clean well-lighted area with sitting standing walking bending stooping frequent repetitive motion of the hands/wrists involved. May be required to deal with unpleasant environmental situations resulting from patient care or patient activity. Exposure to infectious disease body fluids odors and dust. Will be working with a variety of general rehab equipment.

MRHS offers retention pay to individuals who have worked at the facility for greater than one year.
