Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates diagnoses and treats residents with communication cognitive-linguistic voice and swallowing disorders. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans that support residents in achieving their functional goals and enhancing their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive speech language cognitive voice and swallowing evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Educate residents families and staff on treatment strategies and communication techniques.
- Document evaluations progress notes and discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to support resident-centered care.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in care planning and team meetings.
Compensation:
PRN Speech-Language Pathologist
$55.00 per hour
Qualifications
- Current Speech-Language Pathology license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with geriatric populations is preferred but not required.
- Passion for providing high-quality resident-centered care.
