Job Summary
Qualifications:
Required: Meets State of Michigan requirements as a Speech and Language Pathologist
Desired:
- Experience providing diagnostic consultative and direct speech and language services to students in both individual and small group settings; establishing goals based on assessments data and student need; and documenting student progress on goals and objectives.
- Experience providing speech and language assessment and diagnostic services and effectively functioning as an evaluation team member.
- Experience and knowledge of language articulation development fluency and voice intervention/remediation strategies.
- Experience and knowledge of speech and language development in special populations including students with early childhood developmental delays cognitive impairments and autism spectrum disorders.
- Ability to function as a speech and language consultant for special and general education teachers regarding the integration of language instruction into the curriculum.
- Familiarity with Michigan Speech-Language Hearing Association and Kent Intermediate School District speech and language guidelines.
- Knowledge of Response to Intervention initiative and strategies.
- Ability to relate positively and work cooperatively with students school staff and parents.
- Prefer experience and knowledge with a wide range of school-age students.
- Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
