Specimen Processing Technician I FT Evening Shift

ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Full-time Specimen Processing Technician to work in the General Laboratory. The work hours are evening shift Monday through Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. This position requires every other weekend and 2-3 holidays per year.

• Process sort and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips
• Print and properly affix identification labels to all incoming patient specimens
• Prioritize incoming work ensuring samples for stat testing are delivered to the appropriate laboratory section in order to maintain stated turnaround times
• Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery

• Associate degree or higher in biology chemistry or health science required or a High School diploma with at least five years of experience working in specimen processing from similar hospital system.
