Job Summary

The Specialty/ Coated Products Manager is responsible for the strategic coordination quoting execution and ongoing management of Majestics specialty coated steel product portfolio including pre-painted steel Galvalume Galvannealed ZAM and other value-added coated products. Serves as the primary liaison between customers sellers purchasing quality mill suppliers coil coaters and paint suppliers to ensure successful program execution from quotation through delivery and ongoing support. Drives customer satisfaction supply chain alignment inventory optimization and growth initiatives across the specialty coated products business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Partner closely with Sellers to gather review and validate customer requirements and specifications for specialty coated product opportunities.
  2. Develop and support competitive quotations by identifying appropriate mill suppliers coil coaters and coating systems based on customer requirements lead times capabilities and commercial considerations.
  3. Coordinate sourcing activities with Purchasing mill suppliers coil coaters and paint suppliers to develop effective supply chain strategies.
  4. Lead customer qualification activities for new specialty coated product programs ensuring technical operational and commercial requirements are met.
  5. Manage implementation and launch activities for approved customer programs maintaining alignment among all internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Monitor and expedite specialty coated product orders to ensure customer delivery commitments and production timelines are achieved.
  7. Coordinate with Quality suppliers and customers to investigate resolve and document product quality concerns claims and corrective actions.
  8. Maintain proactive communication regarding order status program performance supply chain risks and issue resolution.
  9. Manage inventory programs for painted and specialty coated products through analysis of customer forecasts usage trends and replenishment requirements.
  10. Collaborate with Purchasing and Operations to minimize stock-outs excess inventory and supply disruptions while maintaining targeted service levels.
  11. Support Acrylic Galvalume Galvannealed and ZAM programs through forecasting inventory planning supplier coordination and customer support activities.
  12. Partner with Sellers and suppliers to identify market opportunities support product positioning and expand specialty coated product sales.
  13. Monitor market trends supplier capabilities and customer requirements to identify opportunities for portfolio growth and continuous improvement.
  14. Identify process gaps operational inefficiencies and service opportunities and recommend solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and business performance.
  15. Support special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Education Training and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management Operations Engineering Manufacturing or a related field or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in steel manufacturing metals distribution coated products supply chain management product management or related industrial environments.
  • Experience managing customer programs supplier relationships inventory planning and cross-functional projects.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience working with ERP CRM and business management systems.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • Strong understanding of coated steel products including pre-painted steel Galvalume Galvannealed ZAM and related applications.
  • Excellent project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive solution-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex supply chains involving customers suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to analyze forecasts inventory trends and market conditions to support business decisions.
  • High level of accountability ownership and follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in coated steel metals distribution manufacturing or supply chain management.
  • Direct experience with pre-painted steel programs and specialty coated products.
  • Knowledge of coating technologies paint systems and customer qualification processes.
  • Experience supporting engineered applications construction products data center markets or other specialty steel markets.
  • APICS CPM CSCP or other supply chain purchasing or operations-related certifications.

    • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as business needs require.
    • Travel is anticipated for customer visits supplier meetings plant tours industry events and program support activities
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with customers suppliers and internal business partners in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
