Job Summary

Specialist Technician

Major Areas of Focus

Specialist Technicians (ST) are elite multiskilled frontline workers who operate under the direction of a Specialist Crew Leader. Often described as the companys Swiss Army Knife STs support multiple service lines and project types and are trained to use a wide range of equipment including heavy equipment. They complete diverse operational tasks safely efficiently and with high quality while maintaining clear communication and strong respect for leadership and teammates. STs may also receive direction or training from a Project Manager or Field Supervisor.

Training & Development Path: Candidates may join with limited experience. Upon meeting baseline hiring qualifications (drug screen background check driving eligibility English fluency travel capability and physical requirements) newly hired STs receive structured onthejob training and progressive certifications across multiple job categories and equipment classes (including heavy equipment). Advancement follows a formal skills ladder managed by the Specialist Crew Leader.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Client Management
  • Professionally represents East Coast Facilities Inc. at all times.
  • Recognizes when client questions require escalation and involves the Specialist Crew Leader when appropriate.
  • Keeps the Specialist Crew Leader aware of all client communication concerns and site observations.
  • Maintains a positive responsive and flexible attitude with clients and site personnel.
Safety Management
  • Promotes and maintains safe working conditions in all environments including project sites industrial settings airports and highrisk areas.
  • Follows all company safety policies and disciplinary procedures where applicable.
  • Drives toward zero preventable accidents proactively identifies hazards and uses required PPE.
  • Adheres to safety training for specialized tools machinery and equipment.
Image Compliance
  • Maintains a clean neat and professional appearance per ECF uniform standards.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct and communication on every job.
Equipment Management
  • Operates a broad range of tools and equipment which may include:
    • Landscape and sitemaintenance equipment
    • Construction restoration and remediation equipment
    • Heavy equipment classes (after training/certification)
    • Power tools trailers lifts and specialized machinery
  • Is accountable for the proper use care security and reporting of any damage or needed repairs.
  • Assists with pre and postuse inspection cleaning and maintenance.
General Qualifications
  • English fluency (speaking and reading) required due to technical safety and documentation needs.
  • Passes an illicit drug test and criminal background check.
  • Complies with business ethics applicable laws/regulations and confidentiality requirements.
  • Holds a valid drivers license and meets underwriting eligibility to drive company vehicles.
  • Able and willing to fly commercially for outofstate work and surge deployments (sometimes on short notice).
  • Demonstrates adaptability across multiple specialties including (as trained/assigned):
    • Site maintenance and facility support
    • Construction repairs and project work
    • Remediation and restoration
    • Industrial or specialized services
    • Snow & ice operations
    • Tree care support / arborrelated tasks (if trained/licensed)
    • Irrigation troubleshooting and light repairs (if trained)
    • Fleet maintenance repairs and related projects
  • Performs all assigned tasks related to multi-disciplinary field operations.
Winter Season Operations (if applicable)
  • Operates plow trucks loaders and related snow equipment.
  • Shovels snow and operates walkbehind snow blowers.
  • Applies salt and other deicing materials safely and effectively.
  • Assists with prestorm preparedness and poststorm cleanup/restocking.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Works in and around moving vehicles heavy equipment and congested traffic zones.
  • May work near natural bodies of water steep grades and uneven surfaces.
  • May operate or work around aerial/scissor lifts and elevated platforms.
  • Able to work overtime or extended shifts when required by Management.
  • Works outdoors in extreme conditions (0F to 95F) including direct sun rain snow and icy conditions.
  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Able to bend stoop kneel climb twist and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
How Pay Is Determined

Each job category has an established compensation range. Hiring managers follow corporate guidance to set the appropriate starting rate based on:

  • Proven experience across multiple technical disciplines
  • Ability to operate a wide range of equipment including heavy equipment
  • Eligibility to drive company vehicles (per underwriting)
  • Special licensing/certifications (e.g. CDL Pesticide Applicator ISA Arborist Lift Certification etc.)
  • Quality of supervisor references
  • Willingness and ability to travel and support outofstate operations
  • Rate matching consideration for competitively recruited candidates
