Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced technical writer.
Essential Functions:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong editing proofreading and formatting skills
Proficiency in researching and analyzing detailed technical processes to extract technical information
Confidence and experience with team coordination including working with engineers customer representatives subject matter experts vendors technical personnel and the internal illustration team
Adaptable to changing priorities and workloads and able to work independently
Strong time-management skills
Proficient with Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and/or Extensible Markup Language (XML)
Experience authoring Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals Technical Orders (TOs) Technical Manuals (TMs) Users Manuals and other related technical documents in various formats
Familiar with military and aerospace technical documentation requirements such as standards and specifications (e.g. MIL-STD-38784 MIL-STD-40051 MIL-DTL-38807 S1000D)
Familiar with SGML and/or XML content for DoD operation and maintenance manuals
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Proficient with Adobe Acrobat
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
Occasional travel required
Ability to obtain security clearance and maintain eligibility requirements to access U.S. classified information
