Your engineering ingenuity wonder & magic in defining and validating OBD test concepts will be instrumental in shaping the perception of Scout as a brand as well as gaining peer admiration in the automotive industry

- Define and maintaintestable OBD requirementsaligned with regulatory needs and system-level diagnostic concepts for Scouts software-defined vehicle architecture
- Translate OBD system requirements intoclear validation criteria test cases and acceptance conditions ensuring completeness and consistency
- Develop and structuretest specifications for OBD monitors readiness behavior MIL activation DTC setting/clearing logic and fault handling
- Ensure fulltraceability from OBD requirements to verification activities including linking to test cases execution results and release evidence
- Collaborate closely withHIL engineers validation teams calibration engineers and software developerstoalign ontest coverage and execution strategies
- Support the development and automation ofHIL SIL and vehicle-level test scenarios including fault injection edge cases and regulatory drive cycles
- Review and validate diagnostic implementations against defined requirements ensuring correct monitor execution and expected system behavior under all operating conditions
- Analyze test results diagnostic traces and measurement data to identifygaps inconsistencies or non-compliances and drive structured issue resolution
- Ensure that OBD validation coversnominal operation edge conditions degraded modes and recovery behavior
- Support regulatory readiness by contributing tovalidation reports compliance documentation and readiness assessments
- Coordinate activities throughout prototype and serial development including test planning execution tracking and reporting
- Work with systems and architecture teams to ensure OBD requirements aredesigned for testability and scalable validation within the SDV framework
- Continuously improvetest methods validation strategies and requirement qualityto enhance efficiency and robustness
- Be involved in other related tasks / activities as required
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location inNovi Michigan.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.

- Relevantdegree such as abachelorsormastersdegree in Engineering Technology IT Systems Computer Science Mechatronics Controls or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university preferably in electrical engineering automotive engineering or systems engineering
- 5 years of experience in automotive diagnostics validation or requirements engineering with strong focus ontesting and verification of OBD systems
- Provenexperience definingtestable OBD requirements including monitor conditions fault detection logic readiness behavior and diagnostic verification criteria
- Strongunderstanding ofOBDII regulations diagnostic monitor execution DTC behavior readiness states and emission-related validation expectations
- Experiencetranslating system and regulatory requirements intoclear validation and test specificationsfor MIL readiness and diagnostic completeness
- Hands-on experience with validation environments such asHIL SIL MIL and vehicle testing including test case development and automation
- Proficiencywith tools such asMATLAB/Simulink ETAS INCACANoe/CANalyzerCANape and data analysis tools
- FamiliaritywithUDS diagnostics DTC handlingfreezeframes and diagnostic communication over CAN/Ethernet
- Experiencewith requirements and traceability tools such asJama DOORS orPolarion including linking requirements to test cases and validation results
- Stronganalytical and debugging skills with the ability to interpret measurement data logs (MDF/BLF) and diagnostic traces
- Abilityto read and understand Simulink models control logic and diagnostic specifications
- Stronginterpersonal skills including ownership structured problem solving communication and ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
- Motivatedengineer wanting to ensure robustness and compliance of next-generation diagnostic systems through rigorous testing

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range $110000.00 - $135000.00
