Founded in 1956 Dignity Health - Memorial Hospital is a 385-bed acute care nonprofit hospital located in Bakersfield California. As our Specialist Nurse Practice you will function as an expert clinician and educator instrumental in elevating clinical care and outcomes across our nursing staff.
Every day you will collaborate with nursing staff nursing managers nursing directors education services the Director of Nursing Standards and Practice and physicians. This involves monitoring the clinical care of patients and providing essential clinical support to improve patient care staff satisfaction patient satisfaction and patient outcomes. You will embody the roles of expert clinician educator role model patient advocate change agent leader and cost-effective practitioner actively driving best practices and continuous improvement within nursing.
To be successful in this role you will possess extensive experience as a Registered Nurse with advanced clinical expertise and proven experience in nursing education or professional development. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment strong communication and teaching skills capable of mentoring staff and influencing positive clinical practice changes.
- Performance Expectations
- Establishes and maintains standards of care utilizing the nursing process; provides and demonstrates quality nursing care by initiating individualized care plans problem solving utilization of hospital and community resources and collaboration with other health professionals.
- Evaluates plans develops and coordinates Dendrion patient care pheresis patient care and intrathecal patient care in line with best evidence in each area.
- Evaluates plans develops and implements the quality of care throught such activities as staff and environmental rounding audits for the purpose of identifying problems which are common to nursing planning and adminstering staff and patient education when needed policy review writing and updating assuring that EMR and drug regimens are up to date and in line with best evidence
- Assists with the development communication and implementation of established standards policies procedures and protocols. Offers regular feedback guidance and support to staff.
- Educator
- Bachelors Of Nursing and A minimum of 5 years current clinical experience caring for telemetry patients. upon hire or
- Registered Nurse: CA upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR upon hire
Preferred
- Masters Of Nursing and background in Clinical Education. National Certification upon hire or
- Other CNS upon hire
