Job Description:

The Electrical Engineering Specialist will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and review system wiring diagrams circuit breaker panels control panels and other items using CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as Capital Harness or NX.
  • Research and preparation of engineering drawings and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering Manufacturing and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.
  • Lead a small team of electrical design engineers to implement electronic subsystems by breaking down requirements and work packages providing drawing status and budget estimates to platform leads.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers.
  • Learn and become familiar with L3Harris Technical Process Specifications and related design practices and methodologies.
  • Designs can include development of Avionics Systems RF LAN Data Processing Sensor Systems Power Distribution Systems Electrical Loads analysis Load shedding scheme to name a few along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft.
  • Can work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.
  • Must be able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments (some positions will require the ability to board/exit aircraft)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with four (4) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
  • Graduate Degree with two (2) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
  • In lieu of a degree minimum of eight (8) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher.
