As a Special Education Teacher at The Pinnacle School you will create personalized academic and social-emotional learning experiences for students with complex learning challenges. Using evidence-based strategies and a collaborative approach youll help each student develop confidence independence and essential life skills.
What Youll Need
Bachelors degree in special education or related field (Masters preferred)
Connecticut certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification
At least two years of experience teaching students with learning or emotional differences
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
What Youll Do
Design and implement individualized lessons aligned with each students IEP goals and learning style
Support students emotional regulation and coping skills using the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model
Integrate social executive functioning and problem-solving skill development into daily instruction
Collaborate with counselors related service providers and families to ensure cohesive student support
Maintain a structured safe and inclusive classroom that fosters growth and curiosity
