Special Education Teacher

As a Special Education Teacher at The Pinnacle School you will create personalized academic and social-emotional learning experiences for students with complex learning challenges. Using evidence-based strategies and a collaborative approach youll help each student develop confidence independence and essential life skills.

What Youll Need

• Bachelors degree in special education or related field (Masters preferred)

• Connecticut certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification

• At least two years of experience teaching students with learning or emotional differences

• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams

What Youll Do

• Design and implement individualized lessons aligned with each students IEP goals and learning style

• Support students emotional regulation and coping skills using the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model

• Integrate social executive functioning and problem-solving skill development into daily instruction

• Collaborate with counselors related service providers and families to ensure cohesive student support

• Maintain a structured safe and inclusive classroom that fosters growth and curiosity
