Special Education Teacher

Location: Kenosha WI
Duration: 10-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday 37.5 Hours per Week
(Elementary schools operate on a half-day schedule on Fridays; contractors will work a full day.)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction implement IEPs and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to help students achieve academic behavioral and social-emotional success.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a small caseload and receive strong support from paraprofessionals and school staff in a collaborative educational environment.

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Modify curriculum lesson plans and instructional materials based on student needs.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals related service providers administrators and families.
• Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate student progress with families and school staff.
• Utilize differentiated instruction assistive technology and evidence-based teaching practices.
• Foster a safe inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA state regulations and district policies.

• Valid Wisconsin Special Education Teacher License.
• Certification in Early Childhood-Middle Childhood or Middle Childhood-Early Adolescence.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
• Strong classroom management communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students families and multidisciplinary teams.

• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in a self-contained special education classroom.
• Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and differentiated instruction techniques.
• Experience supporting students with diverse academic behavioral and social-emotional needs.
