Responsibilities:
- Provide required academic documentation to support Individualized Education Program (IEP) development implementation and compliance.
- Plan and develop individualized lesson plans for all students based on their learning needs.
- Provide instruction aligned to Colorado Academic Standards and Safety Net Standards.
- Plan the effective use of instructional time to maximize student engagement learning and progress.
- Utilize teaching methods that are appropriate for meeting the goals and objectives outlined in the IEP.
- Participate in and adhere to Handle with Care protocols including the use of approved physical restraint techniques when necessary
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with Major or Minor in a subject (Math/Science etc.) or degree in Education (preferred) or proven enrollment and progress in a four-year degree program specifically centered around Special Education and Education.
- Special Education Generalist license or hold (or be eligible to hold) a Colorado Teaching License in the necessary endorsement area(s) or eligibility to obtain a Temporary Educator Eligibility licensure a Substitute Teachers License in the necessary endorsement area.
- Minimum of two years related experience preferred.
- Previous experience working with IEP 504 or ILPs preferred.
- Ability to maintain healthy emotional and physical boundaries in personal and professional relationships
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agencys clients and staff.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for childcare facilities. This screening includes initial and ongoing state criminal background checks fingerprinting sex offender registry searches and abuse and neglect clearances. If the employee has lived in any other state within the past five years equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states will also be addition employees are required to complete a health evaluation or physical examination prior to beginning service to confirm fitness for duty and annually thereafter.
