Special Education Paraeducators-Amethyst Brook Elementary

The Amherst Public School District is seeking full time outgoing and self-directed para-educators to work at Amethyst Brook Elementary School to provide social emotional behavior and academic support in 1st-5th grades general education Specials classes. This is a full time 10 month paraprofessional position.

This position includes providing direct support and academic instruction to student(s) under the direction of the general education teachers.

Experience with or willingness to train in order to

• Commitment towards inclusion that benefits students socially emotionally and academically
• Experience with and dedication to creating an environment that is welcoming to a racially ethnically linguistically culturally gender and neuro diverse school/community
• Strong positive interpersonal skills and ability to build respectful and tactful relationships with students colleagues parents and community members
• Effective ability to organize time prioritize tasks and work independently despite frequent interruptions and to exercise discretion on confidential matters
• Strong ability to work as a member of a professional learning community
• Highly effective oral and written communication skills
• Effectively work with individual students and small groups to support their academic growth and progress.
• Support Specials instructional environments in PE Art Technology Music and Library.
