- General Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Special Education Teacher The Special Education Job Coach provides training and support for students to ensure success during work experiences. The Special Education Job Coach consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) and transition plan assists the Special Education Teacher to secure job placements analyze and modify job tasks; provide employability skills instruction; conduct student observations and assessments; and work collaboratively with worksite employees.
Reporting directly to the Special Education Teacher the Special Education Paraeducator is responsible for supporting and assisting students with disabilities in various school settings. The Special Education Paraeducator consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or individual family service plan (IFSP) assists the Special Education Teacher with lesson plan preparation; one-on-one and small group instruction; classroom management; student observation and assessment; and communication with parents and staff.Salary:
The full salary range for this position is $21.82-$26.99 per hour.Offers are made at the beginning of the range.
Assignment/Location:We are recruiting for two Special Education Job Coach/Paraeducators to serve our STEPS program in Longview WA. These positions work 33.5 hours per week on a school year schedule. Expected start date will be in August 2026.

Essential Functions:
Special Education Job Coach- Assist the Special Education Teacher consistent with IEP goals and transition plans to secure job placements; provideinstruction of employability skills; student observation and assessment; and work collaboratively with worksite employees.
- Coach students on vocational skills and on-the-job skills to enhance readiness for employment.
- Analyze and modify job tasks to student skill level.
- Supervise students.
- Transport students to communityworksites.
- Observe students; collect data and report student progress.
- Maintain accurate data collection records.
- Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.
- Participate in staff meetingsinserviceprograms workshops and seminars.
- Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.
- Assistthe Special Education Teacher consistent with IEP orIFSPgoals in lesson plan preparation; one-on-one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; communication with parents and staff in a variety of school settings.
- Supervise students.
- Collect data and report student progress.
- Maintain accurate data collection records.
- Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.
- Provide positive behavior management support consistent with the IEP orIFSP.
- Attend to the physical needs of students including moving and positioning students & assisting with personal hygiene needs.
- Participate in staff meetingsinserviceprograms workshops and seminars.
- Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Associates Degree (note: if offered a position officialtranscripts are required prior to start date) OR
- 48 sem./72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university (note: if offered a position officialtranscripts are required prior to start date); OR
- Passing score of 455 on the ParaPro Assessment (earned by August 31 2026); OR
- Passing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment; OR
- 65% on The Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program; OR
- Passing scores of 324 for Reading & Writing and 325 for Mathematics on the ParaPathways Assessment. Bridge qualifying score: a minimum score of 321 on either subtest qualifies for the bridge option.
- Experience in a special education classroom setting.
- Knowledge of programs and services for students with disabilities.
- Working Conditions/Employment Requirements
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Classroom setting may move from classroom to classroom to provide services.
- Worksite environment may move from area to area to provide services.
- Provide assistance and attend to the physical needs of students including moving and positioning students and assisting with personal hygiene needs including but not limited to: tube feeding catheterization changing diapers toileting.
- Regular attendance during assigned work schedule.
- Travel within ESD 112 region for meetings and trainings.
- Hold a valid drivers license.
- Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
- Within three years of employment meet Washington State Core Competencies for paraeducators as defined in WAC392-172A-02090(f).
