Job Summary
Title:District Campus Special Education BehaviorSpecialist
Classification Title:Behavior Interventionist
Reports to:Special Education Director
Terms of Employment: 183.5 days
Job Summary:
The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for helping to create and implementclassroom management systems and individualized behavior intervention plans for students with disabilities.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and/or Analysis
- Create train and coachsocial skills implementation
- Lead district efforts to better understand and eventually create trauma informed practices
- Provide Professional Development to various groups to expand the knowledge ofbehavioral systemsand best practices
- Engage in observation and feedback cycles regarding BIPs in progress
- Attend workshops to maintain current knowledge of new legislation and student advocacy service requirements
- Actively maintain or improve the external and internal image of the District its divisions and its schools
- Establish annual objectives as deemed appropriate by the supervisor
- Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner

Education:
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or approved for USBEs Associate Educator License (AEL) in Special Education

- Single subject teaching credential or certification if teaching a specialized subject
- State certification
- Relevant teaching experience
- Knowledge of relevant technology
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred
- School or Clinic experience preferred
