Position: Special Education Administrative Assistant/Monitoring Compliance and Reporting
Reports to: Director of Student Programs
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Clerical skills required.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets (including data organization basic formulas and tracking).
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: Assist the Special Education staff in maintaining compliance with state and federal policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist Site Special Education Personnel as required.
- Provide technical assistance to Special Education Staff regarding IDEA in Ed Plan.
- Monitor finalized documents for compliance in Ed Plan for all meeting types (Initial MEEGS/IEP Re-Evaluations Subsequent IEPs IEP Addendums Manifestation Determinations etc.).
- Communicate with SPED staff regarding compliance issues in Ed Plan.
- Utilize Google Sheets to build maintain and analyze complex tracking systems to monitor student data and compliance deadlines.
- Monitor and pull data reports from Ed Plan and PowerSchool as requested and for October 1st Child Count and End of Year Reporting to verify accuracy by the required deadlines.
- Coordinate special education transportation requests for current school year extended school year and upcoming school year.
- Complete monthly compliance reports (and additional as needed) for District and Site Special Education Coordinators and staff.
- Verify and maintain accuracy between the State Reporting SPED System (Ed Plan) and Student Information System (PowerSchool) for IDEA data.
- Monitor and pull reports on Evaluation logs for District and Site Special Education Coordinators.
- Maintain state reports for 5 years: October 1st End of the Year and District Data Profile.
- Assist the Director of Student Programs and Special Education District Coordinators as needed.
- Perform such other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
