POSITION: Special Education Administrative Assistant
Harrisburg operates on a 4-day school week (M-Th) with some Fridays.
Employment Type: Full-Time / School-Year Schedule
Compensation: $23.28 $31.32 / hour - flexible hours and approved remote work (WFH) opportunities.
Benefits: Prorated employer-paid insurance CAP to assist with health dental and vision premiums; employer-paid Basic Life and AD&D policies. Two (2) days of personal leave ten (10) days of sick leave paid holidays and a generous PERS retirement contribution.
JOB SUMMARY: This position monitors regulatory compliance and supports smooth departmental this role you will play a vital part in student success by managing essential paperwork and meticulously reviewing IEP documentation for accuracy and deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administrative Support: Assist the SPED director with daily operations scheduling correspondence and maintaining highly confidential student files. Duties may also include medicaid support.
- Paperwork Management: Prepare organize and submit state and federal compliance documentation meeting notices and progress reports.
- IEP Documentation Review: Review Individualized Education Program (IEP) files for completeness accuracy and adherence to legal deadlines before final submission.
- Data Entry & Tracking: Maintain accurate data within the districts database to track student timelines evaluations and re-evaluations.
- Meeting Coordination: Help facilitate monthly district case manager meetings and provide needed IEP support for administrators teachers specialists and parents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Background in a special education environment or school administrative setting.
- Software Skills: Familiarity or experience with the Synergy software platform is a strong plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is required.
- Knowledge Base: Familiarity with special education terminology timelines and IEP components.
- Soft Skills: High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential student information (FERPA compliance). Excellent proofreading skills and a collaborative attitude.
