This role is part of Alcons Supply Chain function a team that manages the logistics inventory management and supply chain analytics for Alcons industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly.
The Manager Strategic Sourcing (Professional Path) is primarily responsible for optimizing procurement operations by managing sourcing strategies and supplier relationships to reduce costs and ensure quality. You will build effective relationships with internal partners to align sourcing strategies with procurement needs and lead teams to ensure productivity and alignment with departmental goals.In this role a typical day will include:
- Manage procurement activities for assigned categories of goods and services ensuring quality cost and delivery requirements are achieved.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support efficient sourcing supply continuity and business objectives.
- Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify qualified vendors based on cost quality service and reliability.
- Lead the end-to-end procurement process including Requests for Proposal (RFPs) supplier selection contract negotiations and performance management.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through supplier optimization process improvements and sourcing strategies.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions to ensure quality service and delivery expectations are met.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies procedures contractual obligations and budget requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency effectiveness and value creation.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reporting to support business and regulatory requirements.
Quality & Compliance Responsibilities
- Adhere to all GxP regulations company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate complete and audit-ready documentation.
- Support quality assurance and regulatory compliance through strict adherence to established processes and controls.
- Complete all required training and maintain current knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Contributes to a culture of compliance quality and continuous improvement across the organization.
What Youll bring to Alcon:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 13 yrs; Assoc.9 yrs; M.S.2 yrs; PhD0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read write understand and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience
