How youll contribute
ASonographer who excels in this role:
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
Performs ultrasound procedures and tasks.
Calibrates adjusts and maintains ultrasound and peripheral equipment.
Assesses and prepares patients of all ages for examinations and explains procedure to patient and/or family while performing the examination.
Provides basic patient care and comfort: Maintains infection control and universal precautions as it relates to patient care and equipment.
Receives patients explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
Keeps accurate records helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
Checks the physicians requisition for complete information on the procedure requested refers any questions to the ultrasound physician before performing the procedure.
Assists the radiologist/referring physician in invasive procedures using sterile technique while maintaining infection control guidelines.
Recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the monitor and be able to differentiate artifacts from anatomic/pathologic structures within equipment limitations.
Possesses an in-depth knowledge of anatomy/physiology technical expertise and able to improve standard procedures to enhance diagnostic results when needed.

What were lookingfor:
- Graduated 2 year AMA Allied Health Program
- Education: Associates degree Required; Graduate of approved program of Ultrasound/Sonography or equivalent
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
ARDMS Registered or if new graduate must be ARDMS eligible and pass a test in at least one area (i.e. Abdomen OBGYN) including physics within one year of employment. State license to practice as a Sonographer.
1 year as sonographer (Preferred)
