Overview
Client is modernizing its authentication ecosystem by retiring the legacy FebSec AS platform and migrating applications to approved enterprise authentication services (ECAP). This initiative will improve security governance scalability and regulatory compliance while reducing operational risk and simplifying authentication management across the organization.

Current State
A number of internal and customer-facing applications currently rely on the legacy FebSec AS authentication platform. These systems present security supportability and operational challenges that require modernization.

Migration Strategy
The program will follow a phased migration approach designed to minimize business disruption and ensure a seamless transition:
  • Assess application dependencies and develop migration plans.
  • Integrate applications with approved enterprise authentication services.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and validation.
  • Execute phased deployments to reduce operational impact.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with business and technical stakeholders.

User Access & Identity Management
User identities authentication methods and access permissions will be transitioned to the new enterprise authentication framework. While minor user experience changes may occur during migration the end state will deliver a more secure streamlined and scalable authentication experience.
Integration & Data Migration
The initiative requires integration between existing applications and enterprise authentication services. Authentication-related configurations and data will be migrated using secure processes that align with Clients security governance and compliance standards.

Solution Architect Responsibilities
  • Define target-state architecture and migration patterns for transitioning applications from FebSec AS to ECAP services.
  • Lead authentication modernization efforts and establish best practices.
  • Design and review authentication flows identity integrations and access management solutions.
  • Ensure security architecture aligns with modern authentication and enterprise security standards.
  • Partner with application teams security stakeholders and architects to support migration planning and execution.
  • Identify risks dependencies and technical roadblocks throughout the migration lifecycle.
Required Experience
  • Strong background in solution architecture application integration and enterprise systems.
  • Experience with authentication platforms identity and access management (IAM) and security services.
  • Knowledge of modern authentication protocols and patterns.
  • Experience modernizing or migrating legacy authentication solutions.
  • Ability to communicate architectural direction to both technical and business stakeholders.

Environment
  • Work closely with Client architects and engineering teams including subject matter experts with deep knowledge of the legacy FebSec environment.
  • Internal architecture and platform support resources are available throughout the engagement.
