Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Software Test Engineer Co-op to join our Software Engineering (RLM) located in Danvers MA.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and gain hands-on experience in software testing for medical devices specifically using Pytest and other in-house tools for end-to-end testing. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about ensuring high-quality software and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Automation: Develop maintain and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Pytest and others for end-to-end testing of medical device software
- Test Planning: Collaborate with developers and QA team members to understand application requirements and design comprehensive test plans.
- Bug Identification: Identify document and track software defects and issues and work closely with the development team to resolve them.
- Engage in Code Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs to ensure code quality and to align with industry standards.
- Test Execution: Perform manual and automated testing to ensure application functionality performance and security.
- Test Reporting: Generate and review test reports and provide insights and recommendations for improvements based on test results.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of test processes and methodologies and stay up to date with the latest testing tools and techniques.
Qualifications
Education:
- Junior Senior or Grad student pursuing a degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Electronics or related field.
- Coursework in electrical engineering signals and systems and embedded devices is a plus
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with automated test frameworks such as Pytest is essential
- Database Knowledge: Understanding database concepts and experience with SQL-based databases (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C Rust Python or JavaScript
- Version Control: Experience with version control systems particularly Git.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning and adapting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate optimally in a team environment.
- Project Experience: Proven experience through coursework personal projects or previous internships. Contributions to open-source projects or a personal portfolio are a plus.
Preferred:
- Experience with Software Testing: Previous experience or coursework in Software development or testing projects.
- Familiarity with Agile Methodologies: Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies is advantageous.
- Interest in Emerging Technologies: Passion for learning about and working with new technologies and tools.
- Experience with Embedded Software involving Low Level Languages such as C C Rust Go is a plus

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$23.50/hr to $52.50/hrAdditional Description for Pay Transparency:
The expected pay range for this position is between $23.50 per hour and $52.50 per hour but will be based on candidates program year discipline degree and/or -Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the -Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington up to 56 hours per calendar -Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Companys consolidated retirement plan (pension).
