Job Summary
The Software Location QE team operates at the intersection of algorithm development and quality engineering. We design experiments build analysis pipelines and run validation campaigns that prove (or disprove) that location algorithms meet Apples rigorous standards across real-world and simulated looking for an engineer with a deep understanding of what quality means for GNSS positioning. You will play a hands-on role in sustaining the operational foundation of our validation infrastructure owning the health configuration and readiness of devices test rigs and receivers to ensure continuous uninterrupted test execution.
Envision and design new test benches to comprehensively validate cutting edge location features. Drive reliability observability and clean failure recovery to keep test execution predictable across the entire lab and execute validation campaigns for new location features ensuring the experience of using these features meets or surpasses Apples quality standardsnBuild representative real-world and simulated test scenarios to characterize location behavior across the full range of environments our customers and track quality metrics to gate software changes through the SW release cyclenDevelop techniques to isolate regressions in positioning; implement custom analysis scripts and statistical models to quantify impact.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience.n3 years of experience in GNSS testing positioning validation or wireless system building and shipping ML or AI systems in production or through significant project worknHands-on experience with LLMs prompt engineering and agentic frameworksnProficiency in Python for data analysis and scripting with prior experience in design and development of automated test harnesses u0026 data analysis toolingnExperience with setting up and maintaining test benches for GNSS/A-GNSS simulation equipment and live signal roof top testing to run functional u0026 performance validationnFamiliarity with QA methodologies and test automation in debugging logs to triage and root-cause issues with development of custom analysis scripts considered a plusnAbility to drive cross-functional communications and understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained
Knowledge of the chipset validation lifecycle from silicon bring-up through production-level algorithm of A-GNSS protocols multi-constellation processing (GPS Galileo GLONASS BDS) and sensor-fusion architecturesnAbility to read and interpret 3GPP location-service specifications (LPP SUPL) and translate logs to verify misses against conformance requirementsnExcellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting algorithm validation results to cross-functional experience in fast-paced agile environment with the flexibility to pivot quickly to support evolving product requirements.
