Software Engineer, Senior

AMERICAN SYSTEMS a 100% employee-owned federal contractor is seeking aSenior Software Engineer to help design build integrate and maintain secure modern software solutions in a complex federal environment in support our CBP customer.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in front-end development cloud platforms enterprise integration database design and DevSecOps along with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

As a Senior Software Engineer at AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will:

• Develop and enhance responsive web applications using frameworks such asAngular React or Vue
• Convert functional and design requirements into scalable accessible and maintainable software solutions
• Integrate applications withREST APIs enterprise services and backend data sources
• Support deployments across cloud environments such asAWS Azure GCP IBM Cloud or Oracle Cloud
• Configure and manage cloud services includingcompute storage networking identity and access management and monitoring
• Implement secure authentication authorization and application security controls
• Apply cloud and infrastructure concepts such asvirtual networks load balancers and cloud storage servicesto support reliable and scalable applications
• Build and supportPower Pagessolutions integrated withDataverseand related enterprise platforms
• Design and optimize relational databases queries and supporting data structures
• Develop and maintaindata access layers stored procedures scripts and automated build test and deployment pipelines
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements assess technical approaches and deliver high-quality solutions
• Communicate technical issues recommendations and solution designs to both technical and non-technicalstakeholders

Required Qualifications

• ActiveCBP BIorTop Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizenship requiredfor the purpose of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. security clearance
• 10 yearsof experience insoftware development architecture or engineering
• Bachelors degreein a STEM field;Masters degree preferred
• Experience integratingmultiple technologies and systems
• Experience withone or more major cloud platformssuch asAWS Azure GCP IBM Cloud or Oracle Cloud
• Knowledge of best practices related toAgileCI/CDsoftware development andunit testing
• Understanding ofUnified Data principles or enterprise data integration concepts
• Excellent communication facilitation and presentation skills
