The Mojang web team is looking for a Software Engineer II who is passionate about modern delightful web experiences in service of the most popular game in the world: Minecraft! As a software engineer on Minecraft Web team you will workcloselywith studio teams to bring Minecrafts whimsy to hundreds of millions of players on the web. You will practice mature engineering and prioritize responsiveness accessibility and maintainability while partnering across disciplines and other teams to bring delightful Minecrafty product experiences to life.

• Build and maintain modern web applications and UI components that deliver engaging high-quality experiences for Minecraft players
• Implement features using modern web technologies such as React TypeScript JavaScript HTML and CSS while following established engineering standards and best practices
• Collaborate with engineers designers product managers and other partners to deliver customer-focused web experiences
• Contribute to shared UI components libraries and platform capabilities that improve consistency accessibility and developer productivity across Minecraft web experiences
• Help ensure web applications meet quality standards for accessibility performance reliability security and maintainability

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including but not limited to C C C# Java JavaScript or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
• 2 years of experience building web applications using Web UI framework such as React TypeScript HTML JavaScript and CSS
• 2 years experience consuming REST APIs and integrating front-end applications with backend services
• 2 years experience using source control systems such as Git and troubleshooting and debugging web applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of modern web development concepts including responsive design browser fundamentals and web application architecture
• Familiarity with component-based design systems or reusable UI libraries
• Understanding of web accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
• Experience collaborating in a cross-functional Agile development environment
• Passion for crafting delightful user experiences and attention to details
