Software Development Engineer, Data Center Engineering Analytics

Amazon is looking for a highly analytical Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Data Center Engineering team. The Data Center Engineering team owns the availability of AWS data centers and has a direct impact on the customer experience. We obsess over customers by developing the most advanced engineering solutions that result in world class uptime while continuously reducing costs for our customers. As a Software Dev Engineer you will partner with Data Engineers and partner teams to build tooling and Gen AI models to harness the vast amount of operational data from the AWS fleet. You will own the timely delivery of such data for use in downstream business intelligence solutions as well as all necessary actions to ensure the reliability of data provided for business decision making. Data analysis is at the core Amazons culture and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our organization.

The ideal candidates will have excellent analytical abilities curiosity and strong technical skills. They will have a strong bias toward data driven decision making and building scalable data pipelines and systems to facilitate such decision making. They will be a self-starter; comfortable with ambiguity; able to think big and be creative while exercising strong judgment and good instincts to be right a lot. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global other words were the people who keep the cloud running. Key job responsibilities
1. Design develop and maintain scalable data analytics platforms and tools that support data center operations and engineering workflows
2. Develop APIs and integrations to connect field service engineering tools with enterprise platforms
Write clean maintainable and well-documented code following software engineering best practices
3. Build automated reporting systems to monitor data center performance capacity and efficiency metrics
4. Develop machine learning models or AI-assisted tools to optimize data center operations
5. Work closely with data engineers business intelligence engineers and TPMs to deliver end-to-end solutions
6. Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance on architecture decisions
7. Drive innovation in generative AI tooling and automation for data center workflows

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- 1 years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
