Social Worker-Homeless Services

S:US Is seeking a Social Worker for our mens shelter in Brooklyn.

This position is located at Ralph Avenue Brooklyn NY 11233.

The Social Worker will be responsible for the overall delivery and coordination of services for homeless
clients. The Social Worker is responsible for interfacing with the New York City Department of
Homeless Services Staff Shelter providers and relevant communitybased organizations to enhance
and ensure clients are in receipt of optimal care and service coordination; be responsible for the
completion of psychosocial assessments impacted by multiple systems. Assess clients needs and
facilitate appropriate linkages to communitybased services. Work within a crisis driven environment
with a knowledge base of substance abuse and addiction domestic violence trauma and mental
health conditions.

• Current licensure LMSW or LMHC
• Masters in social work or equivalent
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development; emotional/behavioral health; mental health.
  parentchild relationships family dynamics; and diagnostic classification
• Strong expertise in strengthsbased solutionfocused and familycentered practice.
• Knowledge of guidelines policies and regulations relating to child welfare safety permanency and
  wellbeing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist individuals of diverse ethnicities backgrounds ages and sexual preferences.
