Social Studies Teacher Gr. 7

The Duxbury Middle School is seeking exceptional candidates for Grade 7 Teacher - Social Studies for the 2026-2027 school year.

The position includes five sections of Ancient Civilizations and Geography I.

The units of coverage will include Ancient China and Ancient South American civilizations.

Position Requirements:

• Massachusetts DESE Certification in History (Grades 5-8)
• Bachelors Degree or higher from accredited college or university
• Particular comfort teaching in an inquiry model emphasizing primary sources and the History and Social Studies practices

• Classroom management skills that support students social-emotional learning

• Experience meeting the needs of diverse learners

• Ability to plan and implement lessons that are aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks

• Current authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience
• SEI Endorsement
