Position Overview:

This position serves as the Social Media Manager for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) a world class institution that has welcomed almost 6 million visitors since 2005 and that houses one of the worlds best collections of Lincoln-related documentsartifactsand audiovisual materials. Serve as Social Media Manager for an unparalleled collection of over 13 million unique items documenting all aspects of American invite qualified applicants to apply for the position of Social Media Manager and help ALPLM continue to chronicle the life of one of the nations greatest Presidents.

TheAbraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museumoffersa robust benefit package including:

Essential Functions
  • Participatescreatesand travels as needed for content for the ALPLMs external and internal print and digital platforms and in the writing design and production of the media content outreach and other publications.
  • Collaborates with agency staff to produce news releases announcements social media posts and other informational materials for the agencysactivities and programsand surveys.
  • Oversees edits andfinalizesearned media publications for the agency.
  • Serves as agency liaison to the Secretary of State Government Documents Section of the State Library.
  • Participates with other agency division in the design and production of various ALPLM publications including brochures development materials and paid advertisements.
  • Performs other duties asrequiredor assigned that arereasonably withinthe scope of the abovementioned duties.

Specialized Skills
  • Requires one (1) year of full-time work experience in building developing overseeing and/ormaintainingan organizations media or social media program for a business government or non-profit.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience developing social media content that includes photos and video.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledgeskilland mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college preferably with coursework in business public administration communications journalism marketing or creative arts.
  • Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization preferably in digital communications or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefers one (1) year of full-time work experience in building developing overseeing and/ormaintainingan organizations media or social media program for a business government or non-profit.
  • Prefers one (1) year of professional experience developing social media content that includes photos and video.
  • Prefers one (1) year implementing the principles and practices of public and business communication. Maintaining anorganizationsmedia or social media program for a business government or non- profit.
  • Prefers one (1) year of experience in proofreading and reviewing content.
  • Prefers one (1) year of experience in the ability to develop and manage a small organizational program.
  • Prefers one (1) year of experience developing installing and evaluating new and revised methodsproceduresand performance standards against stated metrics.

Conditions of Employment
  • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties with overnight stays asappropriate. Requiresan appropriate valid drivers license.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled unscheduled or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends.
