Position Summary
This position will support remote observations by a diverse group of astronomers who use the SOAR telescope. This will include observations requested through the SOAR AEON queue system. The work will require interactions with SOAR operators via remote link interactions with observers to support their observations and their use of data reduction and analysis software. Responsibilities may also include maintenance and upgrades to the hardware and software documentation and the development of data reduction pipelines. As part of its obligation to the SOAR telescope UNC must provide remote observation support for observers who use our telescopes at Cerro Pachon Chile.
