Job Summary
JOB TITLE: Sleep .T(Registered Polysomnographic Technologist)
JOB HOURS: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
JOB SUMMARY:
The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (.T) performs diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnographic studies which includes C-PAP/BiPAP therapy under the supervision of the Sleep Disorder Center Medical Director. He/she performs intensive monitoring of physiological and neurological parameters in patients. Testing is performed in accordance with standards of practice as defined by Bothwell Regional Health Center and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The RPSGT utilizes a variety of sophisticated instrumentation and decision making in the treatment and handing of the individual patient.
The RPSGT. reports directly to the Sleep Center Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma.
Completion of a step program approved by AASM required.
Licensure/Certification:
Current CPR certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Registry in polysomnography from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) required.
And or CRTT/SDS RRT/SDS.
Work Experience:
12 months experience as a PSG Tech required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnographic studies including C-PAP/BiPAP therapy and EEGs as needed.
Responsible for patient preparation prior to testing as well as patient safety and comfort during the testing. Identify potential emergency situations and respond appropriately.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age specific care in the treatment assessment and education of neonatal pediatric adolescent adult and geriatrics patients.
Collect analyze and document data including but not limited to alert and sleep stage changes respiratory and cardiac changes changes in neurological status and other parameters in patients.
Maintain current knowledge to assure a safe working environment. Demonstrate practical application of all policies and procedures relative to safety infection control universal precautions and risk management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
