Skilled Laborer

Skillforce is seeking dependable and hardworking Skilled Laborers for a 5-week project in Sandston VA. This contract role offers the opportunity to work alongside a respected contractor supporting maintenance operations on specialized cooling equipment used in large industrial facilities and data centers.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work have strong mechanical aptitude and can follow detailed instructions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Skilled Laborers will work under the direction of a Lead Field Technician and assist with daily field operations to ensure work is completed safely efficiently and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance activities on outdoor industrial cooling equipment
• Spray and rinse condenser units with water to remove dirt debris and buildup
• Remove and replace air filtration components as directed
• Operate hand tools and basic maintenance equipment safely and effectively
• Follow instructions from the Lead Field Technician and established work procedures
• Support safe efficient completion of daily project tasks
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Adhere to all site-specific safety requirements and company policies
• Report issues delays safety concerns and submit accurate daily timekeeping (clock in/out) to the Lead Field Technician

Qualifications

• Previous experience in general labor HVAC maintenance construction or similar hands-on work preferred
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn new processes quickly
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to use common hand tools safely and effectively
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
• Ability to pass a background check

Required Certification

• OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
