What You Can Expect Working in the Skilled Electrician Position

The Skilled Electrician works under the direction of the Production Manager and is responsible for the installation repair and testing of electrical systems during the production of blast-resistant modular buildings and other industrial buildings. As a Skilled Electrician you are integral in supporting RedGuards goal of delivering customers a quality product on time. You may have the opportunity to work in other stages of the manufacturing process as assigned.

Responsibilities

Assembles installs tests or maintains electrical or electronic wiring equipment appliances apparatus or fixtures using hand tools or power tools.

Inspects electrical systems equipment or components to identify hazards defects or the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.

Plans layouts and installs electrical wiring equipment or fixtures based on job specifications blueprints and local codes.

Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates.

Reviews and/or resolves manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

Cross-trains and uses additional trade skills in multiple stages of the manufacturing process as assigned.

Follow established safety and security rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area and environment.

Minimum Qualifications

3 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.

In-depth Knowledge of Electrical systems 12V 24V 120/208V 277/480V.

Knowledge of single and three-phase systems.

Understanding of data and fire alarm systems.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read complex blueprints or technical drawings.

Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

Basic computer skills.

Work Environment

Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.

Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.

Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Prolonged periods standing climbing bending and kneeling.

Must have manual dexterity a good sense of balance and excellent hand-eye coordination.

The worker is frequently required to operate machinery and/or power tools. Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.

Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
