About the Role
The Site Manager for the Orange Bathurst & Cowra Research Stations plays a pivotal role in shaping the success of DPIRDs research programs. Youll lead the daytoday management of the stations agricultural infrastructure resources and production systems ensuring the site operates safely efficiently and to a high commercial and research standard.

Working closely with site leaders DPIRD researchers and commercial partners youll oversee operations that support crops pastures and livestock and building/site management while balancing the needs of research excellence with best practice agricultural production. This is a handson leadership role where your decisions directly influence research outcomes commercial performance and the long-term sustainability of the site.

To support the operational nature of the role onsite accommodation is provided at a significantly subsidised rent giving you the convenience of living close to the stations daily activity and seasonal demands.

The Research Stations are a dynamic multiagency agricultural research hub where innovation meets practical real-world farming. Our sites support a diverse range of DPIRD research programs commercial activities and collaborative projects with industry partners. We take pride in maintaining a site that is safe productive and futurefocused a place where great ideas can be tested refined and delivered for industry impact.

About You
As our ideal candidate you will bring:

  • Strong operational leadership the ability to manage infrastructure contractors resources and site functions with confidence and clarity.
  • Commercial and agricultural acumen experience balancing research needs with best practice production and commercially sound decisionmaking.
  • Stakeholder communication strengths the capability to work with researchers staff partners and agencies while navigating competing priorities

Essential criteria:

  • Degree in a relevant agricultural or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Required to live on site (Orange). A house is provided at a subsidised rent.
  • NSW Driver licence
