Concurrent Real-Time is currently seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer for the Simulation Workbench team!

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to take real ownership inside our Simulation Workbench (SimWB) product. SimWB is our real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform running on real-time Linux and driving a wide range of I/O hardware for customers in automotive aerospace and defense. This is a hands-on development role on a small team which means you will own features end to end rather than a narrow slice: design implementation test and the customer issues that come back. You will work closely with the teams Principal Engineer to add features and functionality to the product.

What Youll Do

• Design implement and test features across the SimWB product in a real-time Linux environment
• Develop and maintain I/O support for our own cards including our FPGA cards as well as for protocols such as EtherCAT ARINC 429 MIL-STD-1553 CAN and serial and Ethernet interfaces
• Debug issues that span software and hardware using logic analyzers and lab equipment when the problem is not in the code
• Contribute to the SimWB release process including build validation and packaging
• Support the Support and Applications Engineering teams on customer escalations in your areas of ownership
• Write and maintain the tests and documentation that keep your work maintainable by someone else
• Participate in design and code review and help bring newer engineers up to speed

What Were Looking For

• 5 years of software development experience in a Linux environment
• Strong C and C with working knowledge of Java and Python
• Experience owning features from design through release including the customer issues that follow
• Comfort working close to hardware including reading datasheets and debugging software/hardware integration problems
• Scripting ability in Python or Bash for test and automation work
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with real-time systems RTOS or hardware-in-the-loop simulation
• Hands-on work with FPGA-based or custom I/O cards device drivers or embedded interfaces
• Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink or with model exchange standards such as FMI/FMU
• Java client or GUI development experience including Swing or Qt
• Experience with Jenkins Jira and modern CI/CD practices

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $110K - $120K annually plus 10% bonus. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors including but not limited to the individuals qualifications experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
