Job Summary

Simulation Operation Specialist
Position Overview: The Simulation Operation Specialist (SOS) plays an integral role on the nursing education team ensuring that all simulation and laboratory equipment is maintained set up stored and cleaned for each student simulation scenario and skills lab. The SOS will also have responsibility over the student skills lab; maintaining all supplies set up tear down based on the curriculum. The individual will have responsibility for stocking and ordering simulation and skill lab supplies. This candidate will possess an exceptional communication skills as they will be interacting with faculty and students routinely. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Operations. This position is a part-time role (19 hours per week).

Essential Duties:
  • Provides support in the use of simulation in healthcare settings
  • Prepares and maintains lab equipment and materials related to simulation and skills
  • Operates patient simulators for the duration of simulations
  • Sets up and tears down rooms in preparation for various simulations and labs
  • Collaborates with lab faculty to set up and tear down skills labs
  • Maintains current knowledge of simulation equipment catalogs and operation manuals
  • Maintain inventory for laboratory learning and simulation
  • May operate and maintain audio/visual equipment
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree: Preferred
  • Two or more years of experience working in simulation in an educational institution or equivalent setting: Preferred
Competencies:
  • Expressed interest in healthcare simulation along with pursuing healthcare simulation knowledge and education
  • Completion of initial simulation training and annual requirements
  • Understanding of AV systems software
  • Use of PC the Internet simulation equipment and basic nursing equipment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills teamwork accountability ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Comfort with acting some parts
  • Ability to contribute to a healthy and respectful learning environment
Working Conditions:This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as as computers phones printers filing cabinets and other office equipment typically found in such an environment. Exceptions to this environment are indicated below (i.e. noise exposure exposure to natural elements etc.). Exceptions: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones printers simulation and lab equipment etc. Physical demands: lift up to 50 lbs; stand and walk for long periods of time with some bending stooping and stretching.

Required Experience:
