| Position Highlights | A Simulation Nurse Specialist is a vital role in nursing education that bridges the gap between clinical theory and hands-on practice providing nursing students with simulation spaces to practice the skills needed to be a nurse. The Simulation Nurse Specialist is responsible for supporting a healthcare simulation laboratory learning environment based on contemporary best practices leading edge technology and the testing of new approaches. The Simulation Nurse Specialist will collaborate with the U of A College of Nursing Simulation Team and under the direction of the Simulation Director or Site Coordinator and work with faculty to support student skills acquisition deliberative practice and simulation-based education activities. The Simulation Nurse Specialist will work closely with Simulation Nurse faculty faculty from a variety of nursing programs and staff and students to implement and help run simulation events. Simulation Nurse Specialists are primary points of contact between faculty support staff and learners and are responsible for assuring simulation scenarios are conducted with excellence and in a manner that is similar to actual clinical practice.
