Shop Mechanic

Responsibilities:Inspect disassemble Measure clean repair rebuild and assemble industrial pumps and rotating mechanical problems and determine the cause of equipment repairs and replacements of bearings seals packing bushings shafts wear rings impellers sleeves and other pump shafts housings bearings impellers and other components using precision measuring and interpret pump drawings assembly drawings manuals and pump alignment using dial indicators laser alignment equipment or other precision repaired equipment to ensure proper fit clearances tolerances and operating with testing pumps and equipment after shop equipment and tools including overhead cranes forklifts presses grinders drills hydraulic equipment and other mechanical a clean organized and safe work work orders inspection reports repair documentation and parts lists additional repair requirements and communicate findings to supervisors or established repair procedures safety requirements and quality with field service or emergency repairs when handle store and dispose of oils solvents chemicals and other shop other duties as :High school diploma or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing maintenance pump or rotating-equipment mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting to use hand tools power tools and precision measuring to read basic mechanical drawings and understand equipment to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts overhead cranes and other shop to lift move and work around heavy industrial attention to detail and commitment to to work independently as well as part of a attendance and a strong work ethic.
