Job Summary
Shop Maintenance and Tooling Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintenance of various types of equipment for maintaining tool crib processes and tool maintenance as well as maintaining the entire building and company FunctionsTo accomplish this job an individual must be able to perform each essential function. Reads work orders and specifications to determine tasks and priorities; may initiate work orders to track verbal in-person maintenance requestsTroubleshoots and performs minor repair and maintenance of external building grounds plumbing and other mechanical systems or equipmentMonitors fluid levels and adds/changes fluids including coolant to machines; safely transports and stores used coolant for collection by authorized waste vendorPerforms facility cleaning including sweeping and mopping floors and other surface cleaning; cleans and sanitizes restrooms breakrooms and eyewash stations; empties trash and scrap bins as neededStocks and organizes materials and fixtures within the designated storage areCollects and assembles all necessary tools fixtures etc. needed to complete a job in productionRecord data in ERP maintenance work order system or other electronic storageSafely and efficiently operates forklift and other material-handling equipmentOperates motor vehicle to traverse facility and obtain or deliver parts and supplies as neededUsing hand and power tools cleaners and lubricants for facility maintenanceMaintaining a safe clean work environment and following all safety proceduresMay participate in safety committee activitiesFollows all safety policies and procedures; consistently utilizes all requires personal protective equipment (PPE); attends and participates actively in safety trainingPerform other tasks and/or assignments as requiredRegular attendance on-site at workplace is requiredThis role is identified as requiring ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; therefore qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15):An individual who is granted U.S. citizenship orAn individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e. a Green Card holder) orAn individual who is granted status as a protected personRequired Education and Work ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalentExperience in CNC machining to understand machining concepts and tool feeds and speeds is Required Skills and AbilitiesValid drivers license and acceptable safe driving record to meet insurance requirementsForklift experience is preferred; forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained through employmentExperience reading and accurately interpreting shop blueprints technical drawings customer specifications is requiredMechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of facility maintenance is requiredExperience using powered electric and/or pneumatic hand tools including grinders or sanders is preferredProficiency in Microsoft office applications including Outlook Excell PowerPoint and WordERP or Work Order system experience is preferredSelf-management skills including efficiency sense of urgency ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances and ability to juggle multiple projects competing priorities and meet concurrent deadlinesAppropriate written and verbal communication skills and consistently legible handwriting (English)Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentTo perform the essential functions of the role employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility and stand for long periods to perform job dutiesRegularly lift carry (short distances) and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material handling equipmentFrequently bend crawl stoop squat or kneelFrequently climb steps stairs or laddersAccurately distinguish colors letters and numbersUse hands and fingers to remove and install hardware adjust controls and operate toolsUse hands and fingers to operate computer and peripheral equipmentVisual ability to gauge distances recognize and avoid obstaclesWorking ConditionsWork is performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:Excessive noise (hearing protection required)Dust smoke mist fumes/vapors (regularly)Extreme temperatures (occasionally)Hazardous equipment including forklifts hand tools cranes or other lifting devices and other equipment used in a machine shop environment (continually)Exposure to power sources and powered equipment (regularly)The use of PPE including hearing protection eye and hand protection and safety footwear is required.
