Shop Lead / Diesel & Water Transfer Pump Mechanic - Omaha NE

We are seeking an experienced Shop Lead / Diesel & Water Transfer Pump Mechanic to oversee daily shop operations while performing hands-on maintenance troubleshooting diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and water transfer pumps. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with strong mechanical knowledge excellent organizational skills and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

• Oversee daily shop operations and supervise shop personnel.

• Perform diagnostics troubleshooting maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and water transfer pumps.

• Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed.

• Pull parts and equipment from inventory for shipping and loading.

• Order shop supplies including oil fluids filters and other necessary materials.

• Manage incoming and outgoing inventory including parts and equipment.

• Clean lubricate and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.

• Dismantle and reassemble pumps using hand tools and hoists.

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.

• Rebuild pumps replace seals bearings and other worn components.

• Overhaul test and inspect equipment to ensure proper operation and manufacturer specifications are met.

• Examine parts for wear or damage and repair or replace components as needed.

• Maintain accurate service records including labor hours and parts used.

• Keep the shop clean organized and safe.

• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers regarding repairs and equipment status.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• 3 years of experience repairing diesel engines and water transfer pumps (or equivalent experience).

• Ability to diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical equipment issues.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.

• Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.

• Professional attitude and excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to accurately measure document repairs and follow manufacturer specifications.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Ability to prioritize tasks manage workflow and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Forklift experience is preferred.

• Must be dependable safety-conscious and able to work in a team environment.
